Local farmers and residents in Marau Sound, east Guadalcanal are in desperate need of a proper market house with facilities to sell their products.
A local woman in the area said, without a market house, women are selling their products under the trees during market times every Thursdays.
She felt this is very bad since they have to display on their products on the ground using plastics.
She urges provincial leaders, responsible authorities or interested stakeholders to support them to build a proper market house.
Currently, the market area serves communities in and around Marau as far as Aola, which is part of their economic livelihoods.
