The National U19 squad coach, Batram Suri says the inclusion of Solomon Islands European-based goal scoring machine Marcus Chan’s inclusion is a boost to the team’s preparation ahead of the U20 World Cup Qualifiers in Tahiti, August.
Chan is part of the CF Cracks Academy in Valencia, Spain and is the lone foreign based player that is being included into the final squad.
The 19 year old arrived over the weekend and teamed up with the U19 squad at the SIFF Academy.
Coach Suri said confirmed Chan’s participation in training and stressed his inclusion is a bonus to the team as he brings with him a lot of professionalism.
“Marcus has started training with the team.
“I’m proud to have Chan as part of the team as he will boost the team with his professionalism.
“He is a bonus to the team with his experience and will motivate other players.
“I believe in him, whatever he has I believe will help the team especially in the mid field an area we need to improve on,” he said.
Chan’s inclusion not only gives hope for the U19 team but also his team mates at the Academy in Spain.
“We wish Marcus all the best in his near future, and we hope he can succeed representing his Nation!
“We in CF Cracks are big SI supporters! Let’s go Marcus and let’s go SI!” the Club which is producing players for renown clubs like Barcelona and Real Madrid, said.
