MARINE officers in Noro, Western province have ordered two tug-boats carrying logs not to sail due to the current bad weather and overloading.
Reports said the tug boats were stopped early this week and the tug boats are still in Noro.
They were loaded with logs and some cargoes out from a logging company which operated in Western province.
The tug boats were supposed to travel to Honiara.
Over the past days, the weather had affected partsof the country connected to cyclone Lusi which hit the eastern part of the country.
Ashley Taho of Noro customs office told the Solomon Star yesterday that following inspection by marine officers the boats were ordered to remain at berth.
He said for safety wise, the boat had been ordered to remain in port.
“The safety of the boat, crew and equipment is important during this current bad weather,” he said.
