The Honiara Central Market has resume normal business as people wasted no time in pursuing income to meet school fee demands.
The market was relaxed in terms of economical activities during the festive season.
As of Monday, the market was seen busy again as farmers and buyers turned up in numbers for normal business.
One farmer spoken to said she wasted no time because she wanted to prepare for the return of her children to school.
“On top of that, we spent a lot during the festive period therefore we need money to kick us off this year,” she said.
She said there were other farmers who were there with the same focus.
“But we are happy that the main market is back in full swing because that means we can sell our produces quickly.”
Another woman selling clothes said she also has school fee problem and wanted to fish for money before the academic year starts.
“It is a big problem for us parents. I don’t know about others but I know parents face the same problem.
“I am happy that the market is crowded and normal business has resumed.”
Thousands of Honiara resident left Honiara for the provinces to spend the holiday at their home villages.
That affected normal business at the main market in the past few weeks.
Now, people are returning in numbers and Honiara is crowded again.
