Dear Editor – Its an eye sore to see MV Bikoi 2 still berthing at the Honiara central market wharf. We know this cargo boat crashed at the wharf in 2014 during the April floods, if am correct.
By April this year, it would be two years and boat is still stuck there.
The boat needs to be removed to allow the wharf to be used again.
Responsible authorities must do something about this.
Every time I visited the the market area, I usually see youths using the place as their drinking spot and also to relieve themselves.
So, something got to be done sooner.
I would be happy to to see the boat being removed and the wharf being used again.
So often ships find it hard to berth due to lack of wharves at times.
By having this wharf open again would be a bonus to many shipping operators.
I hope someone is listening to this call.
