The Solomon Island football federation (SIFF) Super Futsal President cup defending champions Matakz FC scooped the inaugural 2023 President cup title after defeating a determined G-Camp side 9-2 in the grand final match at Friendship Hall yesterday.
It was a tough match between the two futsal rivals.
The start of the match could see G-Camp making attempts to mount pressure on Matakz with a series of early goal chances; unfortunately they could not find the back of the net.
Despite this, Matakz was consistent and never backed down, fighting their way through and scoring two goals to lead the first half 2-1.
The second half started off well for both teams as Matakz looked for their third and G-camp an equalizer.
The ongoing fast counter attacks by Matakz proved to be causing problems for G-Camp.
It paid off well for Matakz as they eased their way past G-Camp adding another seven goals to make it 9-2.
