The support from business houses and the general public to comply with the 7-meter-by-law has received praised from the City Mayor.
Alference Fatai in expressing his appreciation said, there has been much change around the city since the council imposed the ordinance early this week on Monday, February 2.
“It is very pleasing indeed to see improvements around the city in terms of littering and keeping the surroundings clean.
“I would like to thank all stakeholders, shop owners and the general public for their cooperation in complying with the 7 meter by law,” he said.
Fatai further made an appeal to everyone to continue with the support in ensuring the exercise continues.
He said, there have been some positive feedback from the public commending the improvements on littering in the streets and are impressed with the changes.
The Law enforcement Division is now equipped with a new vehicle and will be carrying out patrols around the city to continue enforcing the 7 meter by law.
There will be tougher measures imposed for the business houses, offices and vendors who frequently violate the 7 meter by law.
