Dear Editor – I would like to raise some concerns regarding measles campaign for Marovo Lagoon.
Marovo zone had experienced measles outbreak in late September up until now, we registered a total of 26 case here in Seghe area health centre alone, other health centres within Marovo also registered cases of measles ,especially Keru, Batuna, and Penjuku RHC.
Those 26 cases are from Chubikopi, Gepae, Buleani, Ninive, Ambu, and Michi villages.
I wonder what’s wrong with the provincial EPI coordinator, maybe she is not serious about us.
Or maybe there is no funding to cater for the campaign? Or what? Why is there a delay to implement the campaign in my zone!or as usual only the nearest get the share of cakes?
Measel vaccine arrived three weeks ago, rumours about funding for the campaign and those to implement the programme were heard like wind but never to be seen in my zone.
What’s wrong coordinator you seems to be so quiet or still busy with your table top doing other priorities?
My zone is still having cases of measles. Please leave some of your priorities, implementers and do come out to implement measles campaign in my zone.
Don’t pretend to be busy by using 50% of government official hours in doing private responsibilities.
The people of Marovo need you to come and implement the campaign to protect us from the disease, what are we waiting for?
Ebola is at the door step now. No time to relax let’s do what we are planning during our micro-planning workshop on measles, or has the plan omitted with new concept /plan?
I think so that is why we experience the delay. Some zones have started their campaign and now reaching maybe half of their target populations already, thumbs up to those who already start their campaign.
Come on, team leaders for zone 4 wake up and do the same as other zones in Western Province!
