Chiefs of Kobito 1in east Honiara will continue their community by-laws meeting today.
A statement from the community said the meeting is held to discuss community by-laws that will guide and direct residents in how they live, behave, and relate to each other.
“We want a community that is free from of crime. Having by-laws in place will assist in that regards,” the statement said.
“The idea here is that we work towards one set of rules that will guide everyone that calls Kobito 1 home.”
Gilbert Camp area, also in east Honiara, has already approved its set of by-laws.
Chairperson of the Gilbert Camp House of Chief, Frank Robolite’e said that community by-laws are there to protect everyone in the community.
“Everyone deserves respect from each other and that our community by-laws are established to help residents to live peacefully and respect each other.”
Robolite’e said at the moment they are working together with the police to clamp down on criminal activities.
Robolite’e appeals to everyone in Kobito 1 to work together with their chiefs to make their community peaceful and safer.
“The life of the community is in everyone’s hands. Working together is important to achieve that.”
