TWENTY-ONE members of Malaita’s new assembly on Tuesday took their oaths at the assembly’s green house.
Clerk Matthew Maefai said of the total of 33 members, only 21 have attended the swearing in ceremony.
Mr Maefai said it is important that all members take their oaths of allegiance to qualify them to partake in the speaker and premier’s elections.
“If anyone fails to take his oath, they will not be eligible to take part in the process, therefore the remaining 12 members should quickly avail themselves for the process.
He said members who are yet to be sworn in are expected to do so today.
