Suva (Fiji Times) – FORMER champions Ba will be fielding two under-17 players in this weekend____s Vodafone Fiji FACT at Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
Krishneel Sami and Sumit Pillay teamed up with eight U23 players with some big names in their quest to win the main title.
Team manager Arvind Singh said exposing the two U17 players was part of their developing plans.
He said playing at a big tournament would be a huge learning curve for the duo.
Singh said the two players had been working hard at training and looking forward to this huge opportunity.
“We will be exposing young players at the tournament, especially in the two under-17 boys,” he said.
“The boys are eager to enter the Fiji FACT tournament and are looking forward to the challenge.
“Apart from the two boys, we also have eight under-23 boys in the squad.”
Singh said the young players would be guided by their big names such as Malakai Tiwa, Avinesh Swammy and Meli Codro.
“One of our senior players Roneel Kumar has joined goalkepper coach Epeli Codro in our management team.”
Singh said the first match against Nadi would be tough.
“Nadi is the defending champion and we will be facing a tough encounter.”
“Likewise for the other pool games against Labasa and Dreketi, they will be tough and the players have been urged to give their best in all the games,” he added.
