SOLOMON Islands head coach Felipe Vega-Arango starts training today at KG football field with 18 players called up and available from the clubs in the Telekom S-League except for five players from Solomon Warriors and KOSSA FC who are preparing for the OFC Champions League National Play-offs tomorrow in Honiara.
The Spaniard has called up some new players into the extended squad with the likes of Laugu United trio Dickson Magi, James Do’oro and Danny Rofeni, Waneagu United teenage Paul Francis and Marist FC trio Ben Fox, Christine Ohasio and Norman Ngafu and Alford Kanahanimae of Henderson Eels.
Overseas based players are closely monitored for their available as the national side is preparing for international friendly matches against Fiji 🇫🇯 and Vanuatu 🇻🇺 during the FIFA international window next month in Laukota, Fiji.
This also kick starts the national team’s preparation program for this year leading up to the Pacific Games in November to be hosted on home soil.
The provisional squad will be officially announced later today.
