Alpha Pacific Trading, the buyers of non- ferrous metal in Honiara is now operating in Auki, Malaita province doing its job of buying metals.
The company through the help of a 45 year old man James Waki established a branch in Auki.
In an interview on Tuesday, Mr Waki revealed that the aim of extending the branch is to buy the old rusty metals that are lying around in many place for many years.
“While we are buying those metals, we also help to clean up the environment,” Mr Waki said.
“This is a new business in Auki,” he said.
The metals being sought are copper, brass, aluminum and so forth.
Mr Waki encouraged the public to come with their metals so that they can buy it.
Meanwhile, Auki public has acknowledged the new business because it helps local to earn some income just by selling some of the old scraps.
Rabbi Jeffta Ata said it’s a good initiative which helps to support the environment and the locals.
