CURRENTLY playing in his best form, Solomon Islands New Zealand based, Micah Lea’alafa is eager to help Auckland City retain the OFC Champions League crown.
Lea’alafa who won the ‘Best Player of the Tournament’ at the 2016 OFC Champions League told Star Sports he’s determined to help his team retain the title.
“I just love to play football so I guess I am ready to help my team mates defend our title.
“I’m feeling great and looking forward to another challenging campaign with the Navy Blues.

The Solomon Islands football’s poster boy so far won two OFC Champions League titles with Auckland City since signing with the Navy Blues in 2016.

Auckland City rated Lea’alafa highly as a special talent.
“Micah Lea’alafa is one his nation’s most precious talents in all forms of the sport.
“Electric pace, skill and trickery, Lea’alafa is capable of unlocking even the most stubborn defence and if given too much space can also demonstrate a formidable finish from anywhere inside the penalty area.
“Lea’alafa is capable of playing as an attacking midfielder, on either flank, or as a forward who enjoys ripping defences apart,” Auckland City Spanish coach Ramon Tribulietx.
Lea’alafa has had been in sparkling form after joining the Navy Blues in the ISPS Handa Premiership.
He scored three goals in four matches after the FIFA Club World Cup and put the ball in the back of net twice against Team Wellington on Sunday only for his brace to be ruled offside.
Lea’alafa and Co are in pursuit of the minor premiership title as they currently leading the ISPS Handa Premiership with 28 points.
The lone ISPS Handa Premiership Solomon Islander stressed he hopes to continue his fine form leading up to the OFC Champions League.
The 9 times OFC winners will host Group C which includes AS Venus, Lautoka FC and Madang FC.
They take on AS Venus in two weeks time on February 25th at the Trusts Arena.
