World renowned music group Michael Learns to Rock will perform live in concert during the 40th anniversary celebrations on September 16, at the Sir John Guise Stadium.
The pop icon MLTR who has broken many hearts world-wide with their sentimental love songs will send PNG into a celebration full of love as his songs are synonymous to PNG nationwide.
There will also be spectacular and biggest fireworks ever shown to be shown in PNG and this will be carried out by Lamana Group of Companies.
The celebrations will also sees multiple air shows from the PNG Defence Force and Australian Fighter planes including the Air Niugini Boeing 767 in the morning and afternoon.
The event will be shown Live on EMTV at Sir Hubbert Murray stadium, Gerehu and Jack Pidik.
In a statement received via- email National Capital District Governor Powes Parkop said, “It’s 40 Years. It’s time to become responsible and more mature as a nation and as people.
“It is time to take our place in the region and in the world to contribute to a better future for Papua New Guinea. It’s also time to celebrate our nation coming of age and laying the foundation for prosperity and cultivate our heritage.
“Our nation of a 1000 tribes and 680 languages is worthy of celebrating this momentous anniversary as a nation in a positive way. This is one of our greatest achievements — to have arrived this far after 40 years as one nation, as one people.
“It’s time for us to lead our families, our communities, our districts, our provinces and our nation for a better, brighter and a more prosperous future.
