MORE than twenty male youths of Green Valley community in East Honiara have concluded a mindset transformation and peace building workshop, at the St. Barnabas cathedral, Wednesday.
According to the facilitator Leslie Filiomea, the workshop is aligned to the democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) government policy statement which is, to embark on post-conflict rehabilitation program being translated into psychosocial rehabilitation.
It is an activity in the 2015, Ministry of National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace annual work plan (recurrent).
The workshop commenced on Monday and ended yesterday.
Throughout the course of the workshop, the youths have listened to presentations from the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) and Honiara City council youth development department and also involved in religious activities.
Before presenting the certificates to the participants, Mr Filiomea told the youths to return to their community as a changed person and show to the people of Green valley that their mindsets have been truly transformed.
Meanwhile, the once trouble makers said, that they have learnt a lot and will continue to do positive things in the community.
The next group to undergo the same training will be youths from Gilbert camp, in east Honiara.
