MINISTRY of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs (MWYCFA) Minister, Freda Rotutafi Rangirei applauded frontline women workers during the International Women’s Day celebrations on Tuesday.
Minister Rangirei said the country is facing Covid-19 for the first time, health workers and frontliners had been the hard working heroes of the country’s response.
“Today on the International Women’s Day I want to applaud all of our frontline workers, especially the women working on the frontline.
“Our women nurses, doctors and health workers, camp management workers, livelihood sectors, those in our national protection committee, our police and security services and women working in all of our essential services,” Minister Rangirei said.
She thanked all these women for their hard work, their commitment and sacrifices they made to keep the country strong during this time of crisis.
The minister added, it has been these frontline workers who have made sure that essential services are still available to women who need them during the pandemic.
