The Minister of Police National Security & Correctional Services, Jimson Tanangada on Friday has successfully visit Rove and Tetere prisons.
During the visit Hon. Tanangada, commended the officers of the Correctional Services Solomon Islands (CSSI) for their dedication and the vital role they play in rehabilitation efforts.
The Minister highlighted the importance of providing humane treatment to inmates and fostering an environment conducive to reform, which aligns with the CSSI’s mission to help inmates lead productive lives upon their release.

He said CSSI operates several correctional facilities across the Solomon Islands, focusing on safe and secure environments that enhance rehabilitation opportunities.
The Minister’s praise underscores the ongoing commitment of CSSI officers to uphold professional standards and corporate governance while managing the challenges posed by overcrowding and other systemic issues within the correctional system.
The Minister’s acknowledgment serves as a motivation for CSSI staff to continue their important work in promoting rehabilitation and reintegration for inmates.
