THE Investment Corporation of Solomon Islands (ICSI) and Ministry of National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace (MNURP) last week formalised the transfer of ICSI land title to the Commissioner of Lands on behalf of the ministry.
The land was owned by ICSI and was given out on tender and won by MNURP, land was located at Panatina Ridge.
Speaking at the ceremony Permanent Secretary (PS) for MNURP Lennis Rukale thanked ICSI for the offer.
He said land is very difficult to find in Honiara, however with the ICSI offer, it will help the ministry to build houses for its staff.
Mr Rukale added the main priority of the ministry is to house its staff properly and more so provide better working environment for its staff.
He assured the ICSI board and ministry officials that the ground work on the site will start soon when the budget is finalised.
Meanwhile, ICSI acting general manager Harry Kuma praised the ministry for the commitment it has for its staff.
Mr Kuma also congratulated the Ministry of National Unity, Reconciliation and Peace for wining the tender.
