THE Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD) has underpinned a plan to abolish the Standard six entry exam – Solomon Islands Secondary Entrance (SISE).
This matter was made known to this paper by Mrs Gladys Siale, an officer within the Ministry.
She mentioned this in her speech on Friday last week during the ground breaking ceremony of Sun Hak Primary School at Town Ground, West Honiara.
Mrs Siale said the exams is designated to be taken when the Standard six pupils reaches Form three.
“The abolishment of standard six exams is to allow all primary schools in the Solomon Islands to be expanded to secondary school,” she said.
However, she stressed that the Ministry is still mandating the plan.
“It will be made known to all schools when the ministry makes an action for the abolishment of standard six exams,” Mrs Siale said.
