MISS Guadalcanal Ezinma Keni Kausua aims to become a resilient and a role model leader for her province.
She dreams that one day to empower Guadalcanal young women and youths to recognize the importance of participating in and contributing positively towards the development of their province.
Kausua spoke of her ambition when she delivered her inaugural speech in front of Guadalcanal leaders and people who gathered at DC Park in Malago Ward, Central Guadalcanal Constituency, to celebrate Guadalcanal Province’s 40th Second Appointed Day.
“Today, I stand here as a young Guadalcanal youth with a vision and aspiration to be a role model and strong leader who will one day empower more Guadalcanal young women and youths to recognize the importance of them participating in and contributing positively towards the development of Guadalcanal.”
Kausua said she was privileged and honored to be given an invaluable opportunity to stand in front of her people to share her view on the theme of the 40th Second Appointed Day celebration “Embracing the Principles of Good Governance and Equitable Participation for Guadalcanal Province.”
“Firstly, I would like to humbly acknowledge you for having the confidence and trust in supporting me to represent our people and province in this year’s Miss Solomon Islands Pageant as Miss Guadalcanal.
“Moreover, I want to acknowledge the presence of past Miss Guadalcanal pageants who have also participated on this platform, representing our beautiful province to raise concerns and awareness on pressing issues affecting women and girls in our society,” she said.
Kausua said she joined the Miss Solomon Islands Pageant (MSIP) platform to be the voice for all Guadalcanal women, girls and youths.
Kausua has just completed her Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Banking and Law, at the Fiji National University.
She hails from the Longu-Birao in Marau with Are’Are descent in Malaita Province.
She started her educational journey from a very humble beginning at Numbu Primary School in East Guadalcanal.
Just like any other Guadalcanal kid, she grew up as a very simple, humble and determined village kid with big dreams to achieve.
As her dream to be a next woman leader in her lovely province, she continues her education endeavour at Naha Adventist Primary School doing grade six.
She worked extremely hard and managed to secure a form 1 placement at KG VI National Secondary School where she spent seven fruitful years of academic learning from 2013 to 2019.
In 2020 she was offered with scholarship to study Bachelor of Commerce Majoring in Banking and Law at the Fiji National University Fiji.
She recently completed her study since December 2023.
