POLICE Chief Mostyn Mangau has on Thursday confirmed the case file of the missing $300k exhibit is now with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions ODPP.
He told reporters that the file was forwarded last Friday to the ODPP.
“The case file was compiled and forwarded to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) as of Friday last week,” he said.
Mr. Mangau said they will now wait for the DPP’s advice and feedback on this matter before they can proceed further to the next step.
The ODPP yesterday confirmed receiving the file last Friday.
Mr. Mangau had had previously told reporters that their investigation is focusing on one person.
That missing $300k was recovered by police after they arrested a manager of the money investment scheme One Link Pacifica last April in Malaita.
The money belongs to the customers or investors of the scheme.
The 300k was initially kept at the exhibit facility at the Central Police Station.
It was later transferred to the Exhibit Facility at the Police Headquarters when it went missing last October.
An officer looking after the exhibit facility is currently on suspension awaiting the DPP’s advice regarding this matter.
