A FEMALE student, 9, was found dead with wounds in a swamp on Sunday after went missing on Friday while returning from school on Kolombangara, Western Province.
The deceased is a student of Sausepe Primary School in North Kolombangara.
According to the reports reaching Solomon Star Gizo News Bureau yesterday said the body was found under a Kakake plant inside a swampy area.
It was further revealed several cuts were on her body when she was discovered.
Initial report said the deceased was returning home from school with some of her of classmates on Friday. The distance between the school and home is between 3 to 4 kilometers.
It was on the way home that she went missing.
A group of three boys were seen in a plantation when the students made their way home.
They are now the main suspect following the incident, it was reported.
It was a man from a nearby village who went to buy smoke at another village that found the deceased’s school bag and uniform.
The man then went to the deceased’s village to return her belongings.
And a search was then conducted until the lifeless body was discovered on Sunday.
Ringi Police are now investigating the death.
The incident had shocked many who have learnt about the incident.
