THE Kurukuru assistant coach has reiterated that their mission for this Oceania World Cup Qualifiers in Fiji is to prove all critics wrong and make the nation proud.
Jerry Sam stressed this to Star Sports from Fiji yesterday.
“We have confident to prove all the critics wrong and make our nation proud not for the money but for the love of the game we have in our blood,’’ Sam said.
He added the team spirit is really high and the boys are keen to play their final games in the tournament.
“The team spirit is great we do things together whether small or big we give our hearts together for our nation Solomon Islands,’’ Sam told Star Sports yesterday.
He also stressed that today’s game against Vanuatu will be another grand final match for them.
“We will continue to take our game one at a time until our last match,’’ he said.
He added they will not treat the last two matches lightly as other teams two are also vying for the top spot.
“The boys are focusing for tomorrow’s (today) game and definitely we must work hard to get another three points.
“This is the road to Colombia for us and we don’t want this opportunity to slip out from us because we have been working really hard for this championship.”
He said all the players and coaching staff will give all they have for the game against Vanuatu today and against Fiji on Saturday.
Sam also thanked Kurukuru’s supporters in Fiji and here in Solomons for the prayers and great supports.
“Thank you for all the prayers from our supporters here in Fiji, Solomon Islands and elsewhere, we are optimistic to make the nation proud in this competition.”
