The announcement by the Malaita Provincial Government to declare the province as a sovereign state has been described as an early call for a premature birth.
Malaita Ma’asina Forum (MMF) early this week in a press conference has condemned the proposed move.
MFF president Charles Dausabea said, that province still have a lot of development priorities to address before talking about federal system or becoming a sovereign state.
“All provinces are working towards that system but the important thing is to develop Malaita first before we look at other issues,” Mr Dausabea stated.
He added the Malaita premier is not genuine in his call for independence.
