Malaita Ma’asina Forum (MMF) has called on parliamentarians to support the Democratic Coalition for Change (DCC) government to continue with their leadership.
Speaking to the Solomon Star MMF President Charles Dausabea slammed the recent move by former Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Douglas Ete and former Minister for Provincial Government Augustine Auga, alleging their actions was based on personal interests and not that of the country.
Mr Dausabea said, MMF will always stand beside DCC because its the only government that have the heart for Malaita province, hence prioritised development of major national projects in the island.
“DCC commits to develop our province, so we must support this government to remain in power to develop Malaita,” he said.
Its understood a number of national projects have been earmarked by the government for Malaita.
These includes, the Suava Bay international sea port, Auluta, Fiu hydro to name a few.
He added Ete and Auga are from Malaita but they did not have the heart for their province, thus pursue their personal interests, which led to their resignation from their government portfolios.
Dausabea has appealed to all Malaita MPs to regroup and join DCC to build their island.
“MPs from Malaita who are with the Opposition should cross the floor and join the Sogavare-led government,” President of MMF urged.
He said, this political upheaval is stirred up by people, who put their personal agendas above the interests of this nation, hence misleading other MPs to support their move to oust the DCC government.
