THE recent mass resignation of government Ministers from the government has been attributed to the cancellation of agro-forestry permit.
Malaita Ma’asina Forum (MMF) president Charles Dausabea claimed in an interview with the local media this week.
“This is because these Ministers used this industry as their source of income.”
Mr Dausabea stated the political crisis has nothing at all to do with the issues of $1.5 million property, $10 million unaccounted in Taiwan fund or any other issues of national interest brought forward by those grass-hopping Members of Parliament (MP).
MMF president said according to their investigation the Ministers resigned because of the recent cancellation of the agro-forestry permit by the Prime Minister (PM).
“It is of personal agendas that forced these Ministers to destabilise the government, which has nothing to do with the national interests.
“Thus, MMF strongly condemns their resignations and call for them to be genuine when dealing with issues affecting this country.
“MPs walk out from government because they benefit from the agro-forestry permit, which the PM had cancelled,” he pointed out.
Attempts to get comments from some of the resigned MPs yesterday were unsuccessful.
