The Ministry of National Planning and Development Coordination (MNPDC) is currently on limited work capacity due to the recent 7.3 magnitude earthquake.
The ministry hereby informs Solomon Islands Government (SIG) line Ministries, Provincial Governments, Donor and Development Partners, Non-Government Organizations, other important stakeholders and the general public that the recent 7.3 magnitude earthquake has affected the Ministry’s physical office space including workstations and office equipment located on the 3rd floor of the blue IRD Building at Townground in Honiara.
“All staff have been advised to work from home for now, while damage assessment is being conducted by relevant SIG agencies. Currently, the Ministry is operating on a skeleton staffing capacity due to limited office space,” a statement from the Ministry today, says.
The Ministry’s Executive Management is working to ensure a temporary work space is made available soon to ensure service provision and engagement with their sister SIG ministries and other partners and stakeholders continues.
“For now, a temporary telephone landline (677) 30154 is in place to contact the Ministry directly since email correspondences will experience delayed reply time from Ministry staff.
“MNPDC hereby requests all our important stakeholder’s understanding on the current situation and assures that appropriate steps are being taken to address the situation,” it says.
