SOLOMON Islands girls, the Walt Disney Studios is looking for a 16-year-old Pacific Islander to play the heroic, bold and adventurous Moana for its live movie version.
The Walt Disney Company Studios is giving the opportunity to as many young women of Pacific Island heritage as they can.
No acting experience is required and the open casting call is for everyone that fits the character description of Moana.
Moana is the daughter of a village chief that feels isolated on her home island of Motunui, yearning for purpose and curious about what lies beyond their reef.
Despite her father’s protests, and emboldened by her Gramma’s encouragement, the intuitive and courageous Moana embarks on a dangerous quest, sailing beyond the reef and using her strength and intelligence to overcome epic obstacles along the way.
Although following her curiosity and searching for her own identify, Moana is never selfish, she is determined to fulfil the quest of her ancestors and save her people.
