Villagers of Kwaibaita in the East Malaita have applauded Our Telekom for connecting them with the outside world through the phone calls and internet.
This follows the completion of the Fiu tower that brings better mobile coverage for the region which was once isolated.

The villagers said that with the telecommunication now available it has solved their long standing problem of communicating with their relatives around the country and the world.
“Now that the installation of the Fiu tower has been completed and now on-air since last week we now can call and pass a message to our family members of friends anywhere in no more than a minute.
“Therefore acknowlege Our Telekom for the great work and job well done in bringing the network to our homes,” they stressed.
Reports revealed that people within the Kwaibaita valley now enjoys the full Breeze coverage.
“Signal coverage goes as far as Faubulu, Mutemute, along the Kwaibaita valley, along Abasi river, along A’arai river, the coastal area and along the Aufasu-Nafinua road.
“Almost every village along the Kwaibaita River are now able to communicate using mobile.”
The service is also to benefit teachers who can now easily check their bank accounts on their phones,” the report said.
The Fiu tower has provided better mobile coverage for the eastern region of Malaita.
