RECIPIENTS of the Malaita Outer Islands (MOI) Constituency-funded scholarships are reminded to focus on their studies.
MOI Constituency Member of Parliament Polycap Paea, Constituency Development Officer (CDO) and Constituency Project Officer (CPO) encouraged the recipients during a briefing in Honiara recently.
This comes as the students began their first semester classes at the Solomon Islands National University (SINU) and the University of the South Pacific (USP) in Honiara.
MP Paea, who is also the Minister of Lands, Housing and Survey, told the students that they are the future of the MOI Constituency.
He told the new scholarship recipients that education will play a key role in shaping the future of their communities.
“Keep your focus, keep your dreams alive and make the most of these opportunities,” MP Paea urged.
Prominent MOI Community member, Lawrence Makili expressed support and appreciation for the education initiatives in the constituency.
“Good work MP Paea and the team,” Makili said, praising the development efforts in education.
