HOLY Cross Cathedral parishioners of the Roman Catholic Church on Sunday witnessed the Confirmation of 76 children during the 11 am mass.
The Sacrament of Confirmation coincided with the commemoration of Christ the King feast day.
The service was led by Catholic Archbishop Most Reverend Christopher Cardone OP.
A statement from the Catholic Communication said the Archbishop in his sermon encouraged parishioners and the children who received the Sacrament of Confirmation to love another and live like Christ.
“Jesus is the King of Love and therefore, we will not be judged by our appearance or our level of education but how we treat each other,” Archbishop Cardone said.
“And the gift of the Holy Spirit helps us see the goodness in others.”
He also urged parents and guardians who witnessed Sunday’s event to always give affirmation to their children.
“Tell your children you love them.
“Give them good advice each and every day.
“When you see your children do something wrong, parents and guardians have to tell them and encourage your children that you love them and that you want them to do good,” the Archbishop said.
He congratulated the 76 candidates of confirmation stating how happy he was to see young people said yes to the gospel.
Sunday’s service concluded with feasting and entertainment at the Holy Cross Hall.
