THE Chinese Government is offering twenty (20) full scholarships for Solomon Islanders to study in China starting this year.
This was revealed by the Chinese government in an advertisement being issued to the public.
Under the offer, it will give the opportunity for local students to study in China during the 2020/2021 academic year.
Of the twenty scholarships, ten will cater for a bachelor’s degree and the other ten for a Master’s degree.
Students applying for bachelors degree must have good grades.
The master’s degree is for interested individuals who are currently working and wish to go for further studies.
Interested students will have to apply online as part of the requirement to submit their applications for consideration.
Hard copies will also be submitted to the National Training Unit of the Ministry of Education.
It is understood the scholarship is part of the bilateral deal under the education assistance to Solomon Islands after the country switched diplomatic ties from Taiwan in September last year.
A number of local students who previously studied in Taiwan are now studying in China.
