THE Mataniko dental clinic will have 16 dentists working to provide services to the public.
The clinic will start its operation next Wednesday.
HCC Health Director, Harvest Miabule said, this clinic will be equipped with more chairs and dentists to cater for the demand of dental services.
Currently Kukum dental clinic is the only one providing dental services to the public with only three dentists working there.
However only 20 patients are being attended to each day.
“Once the Mataniko dental clinic opens, we will recruit another sixteen dentists from the National Referral Hospital (NRH) to work at the Mataniko dental clinic,” the HCC health director said.
Mr Miabule explained the sixteen dentists will work on shifts on each day.
“And this is expected to ease the demand for the service.”
He highlighted how people are frustrated about the current service at Kukum dental clinic.
“But I ask you to be patient while we work on opening the new Mataniko dental.”
“I understand people in Honiara are unhappy of how the HCC offers the dental service at Kukum.”
