THE Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF) has started its deployment of additional officers to the Provinces ahead of next week’s National General Elections.
Police Commissioner, Frank Prendergast said that this is part of the Election Operation Police is staging which has already been in full swing.
“The intension of sending additional officers to the Provinces is to help out in the polling stations, with regards to security ahead of next week’s polling day.
“Officers based in the provinces will have additional manpower to counter any difficulties that may arise during Election Day,” Mr Prendergast said.
Mr Prendergast however added that Police anticipate a peaceful Election Day next week when the nation goes to the poll.
Early this week more than 90 Participating Police Force (PPF) from Australia and New Zealand arrived in the country to assist our local Force oversee the election.
