Dear Editor – The recent Mother’s Day celebrations should be reflected on as it has some very important message that our country should dealt with seriously.
Of course acknowledging our mothers is very important as they are everything to us.
We should thank God and our mothers for raising us to what we are now.
The recent mother’s day celebration signalled a new style where mothers celebrated the events in night clubs and beaches.
I observed the event and agreed that the event has missed its good intentions.
Mother’s day usually fall on the second Sunday of May as Christians feel that at least a day in their calendar, women must be remembered for the important roles they played both in their families and the church.
Today, it is used by women for night clubbing and meeting other men apart from their husbands.
While churches valued them, women themselves disregarded this and opted to do the opposite.
I watched many women celebrating the event with different men apart from their husbands at very rare locations with alcohol while their children remain at home with fathers.
Women with values cannot do this and once you are valueless then it’s worthless respecting you.
Our Society is breaking up so fast due to western influences and we need to be careful before cultural and moral values are all gone.
Our cultural value of women and that of the church has been ignored so what is left is for us to have a chaotic society of marital break-ups and broken homes.
Women if you cannot value yourselves, you deserve no respect from men therefore areas like getting into parliament will just be impossible.
