A MOTHER of three has complained bitterly about the alleged abuse and mistreatment meted out to her and her three children by security at the Hyundai Mall on Thursday afternoon this week.
“The security man abusive and was literally shouting at me, get out, get out. You are not allowed to park here,” the foreign national told Solomon Star after the encounter. I had done nothing wrong. I just came out with my three children after we shopped at the Mall, when the security guard literally threw us out,” she said.
“He was even pointing his finger in my face and putting his hand out to stop us from parking. What I want to know from the Management is whether Hyundai Mall is a shopping mall or a private property,” she said.
The woman said she and her three children were going to park their vehicle in the Mall’s parking lot before they walked across to the other building next to the market.
“That’s when the security man just shouted at us, get out, get out. You are not allowed to park here. It was quite a spectacle, as curious shoppers gathered to find out what was happening.
“I really do not know what the problem is all about and no one seems to know why the security officer was behaving the way he did. If it is about free parking, then the Management should consider charging parking fees. For example, the first half an hour is free the next half or so hours be charged,” the woman suggested.
“You can’t just chase people like that, especially when they are clients who have done nothing wrong.
“I do not think abusing people for no reason at all is the answer. The Management should come out and tell members of the public who use the parking lot what Hyundai Mall’s policy on parking is,” she said.
The Management of Hyundai Mall was to provide a response, but nothing had come through on Friday afternoon.
