THE Anglican Church of Melanesia’s Provincial Mothers Union General Council last Friday elected Mary Vunagi as its new provincial president at its 13th Provincial General Conference.
Mrs Vunagi, the wife of Anglican Archbishop Most Right Reverend David Vunagi, replaces Edith Koete.
The vice president is Gwen Koke.
The election of new office bearers took place yesterday afternoon at the closing of the conference.
Other office bearers elected are:
Link secretary Rebecca Tahosanau and literacy secretary Sarah Sikivape
They will hold office for three years.
The new Mothers Union office bearers will be commissioned in a service held this evening at the St Barnabas Cathedral to close the Provincial General Conference.
