MEMBER of Parliament (MP) for the North West Guadalcanal Constituency Bodo Dettke has made a huge delivery of new machines and items to his constituents last week.
According to Solomon Star’s Guadalcanal stringer John Toki, the items being distributed include Yamaha Engines, Chainsaws, Grass-cutters (trimmers), and Fiber Glass Boats.
The delivery happened at the Constituency Office (CDO) in Honiara and at his constituency.
“The delivery was witnessed by Bodo Dettke and his CDO Junior Suga, CPO Stanley Bogese and people of North West Guadalcanal Constituency.
“The engines and fiberglass canoe will support people on fisheries and sea transportation.
“Apart from land transport, people of North West also rely on sea transport for fishing and travel to other islands,” Toki said.
Toki added that the chainsaws will be used to cut timbers and woods to be sold at the Central Market in Honiara.
“The livelihood of people in North West Guadalcanal is very important and the chainsaw, engines, and fiberglass boat are timely,” he said.
It was noted that the people of North West Guadalcanal have been involving in growing Noni for export and the grass cutters will help them in cleaning their farms and also clean their lawns at home.
Toki said the funds used by Mr. Dettke to purchase items are coming from the Constituency’s budget.
“Dettke also supports churches and schools within North West Constituency,” he said.
He also told this paper that following the positivity shown by the MP, the people of the constituency wishes to thank him for such fine donations.
“Thank you Dettke for the big delivery of engines, brush cutter, and fiberglass engine,” said the people of North West Guadalcanal.
