West Honiara MP positively responds to an appeal of Forum Solomon Islands International (FSII) to purchase new nebulizers for the National Referral Hospital which was stolen last week.
Honorable Namson Tran responded by providing fund of SBD$10,000 which will cater for three nebulizers to save the lives of people with asthmatic problem.
The fund was handed over to the Forum Solomon Islands International (FSII) Chief Executive Officer Ben Afuga who will facilitate the order to purchase the new nebulizers.
Nebulizer is a device used for treating asthma.
Community Development Officer Brian Taupiri said, the constituency responded to the appeal because it is a life serving device for people having difficulties with asthma.
He said the constituency feels it has responsibility to assist because National Referral Hospital is a national hospital where people referred to for medical treatment.
Mr Afuga acknowledged the MP for responding to their appeal which will go towards purchasing equipment.
He said, nebulizer is a very important device to treat people with asthma.
He said FSII will use the fund to order the device from over seas and if they can purchase more they will distribute them to the clinics.
He said from their appeal several members have pledged their support which demonstrated one of the objective of FSII and that is to support community work.
He said, FSII has already done renovation work at the Children ward as part of their community work and purchasing of the new nebulizer will be their second community support for the hospital.
