Member of Parliament (MP) for West Guadalcanal, Moses Garu, 56 years old, has passed away on Guadalcanal Monday morning.
MP Garu passed away after battling with a long illness.
After winning in the National Joint Election in April 17, 2024, MP Garu joined the Opposition Group until his passing away.
His family is still to come up with any funeral arrangements at the moment.
Late Garu held the West Guadalcanal’s seat for two terms before former MP, Anthony Veke defeated.
However, he retained his seat after the 2024 NGE.
Late Garu has a diploma in tropical agriculture and worked as a teacher and banking officer before entering politics.
With his passing, a bye-election is expected soon.
