THE sponsor of the Tuasulia Christmas Sports Tournament in Dala North, West Kwara’ae, Malaita Province, Leonard Tuasulia has strongly urged young people in Fauabu (Ward 4) to stay away from kwaso (homebrewed alcohol) and marijuana.
MPA Tuasulia made the plea at the prize presentation ceremony of the Tuasulia Christmas Cup sport Tournament at Dala Playing Ground on Monday.
Tuasulia, who is the Malaita Province Assembly Member for Ward 4 and the founder of the United Kwara’ae Football Club, emphasised the importance of commitment and discipline to the building of a successful sports career.
“To succeed in sports, you need commitment and discipline.
“There are many individuals who have already achieved success and made it to the national team because they disciplined themselves by staying away from kwaso and marijuana.” he said.
MPA Tuasulia referred to Solomon Islands national striker John Orobulu as a prime example of an athlete who upholds discipline in his journey as a footballer.
“I am proud to have supported John Orobulu in his journey to become a successful sportsman and a national football player.
“If you want to succeed in sports, you must prioritise discipline and stay away from kwaso and marijuana.” he added.
MPA Tuasulia also encouraged young people of Ward 4 who aspire to play football in Honiara to consider joining the United Kwara’ae Football Club.
He said the club is always open to inviting players from the region who want to pursue their football dreams in Honiara.
“United Kwara’ae FC is always here to support young, talented players from rural villages in West Kwara’ae,” MPA Tuasulia said.
“If you’re in Honiara and looking for a club, please come and join us. United Kwara’ae FC is your club. Feel free to visit our training ground at Justice Field at Town Ground every day at 6 am,” MPA Tuasulisa said.
