THE Malaita Provincial Government (MPG) has endorsed the plan for the establishment of the Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation’s (SIBC’s) Wantok FM in Auki.
This was announced by Premier Elijah Asilaua at the 2024/2025 Revised Budget Meeting recently.
He said the MPG has already endorsed the plan to host SIBC’s Wantok FM 96.3 in Auki.
“Soon, we will establish the SIBC office here in Auki. Following the New Year countdown enjoyed by the residents of Auki and surrounding areas, the Malaita Provincial Government has officially approved the paper (proposal) to host SIBC’s Wantok FM 96.3.”
The Premier took the opportunity to also highlight Malaita’s access to immigration services, which he said is a significant development for the province.
“We are also fortunate to now have immigration services available in Malaita Province.
“This will reduce the cost and travel time for our people to go to Honiara for these services,” he added.
The Premier said such service will contribute to improving the lives of people in Malaita.
