Dear Editor – I totally agree with your headline on the above subject, Solomon Islands as a Christian country, to have top leaders with such practice is a curse to the nation.
Look at our MPs with how many strings of women attached to them, you would be very surprised.
It has become a practice that as soon as people get into power, the next thing expected is 02.
It is not a leadership culture but a problem with behaviour, attitudes and ethics.
Even the members of the Provincial Assemblies are actively engaging in this 02 business.
Where they get their funds for all these extra marital activities is very questionable.
The people’s money for development is mostly used in this activity resulting in no development in the constituencies and wards.
MPs and MPAs are signalling wrong messages to our young generations about leadership in this country.
We need God fearing with ethical leadership qualities in this country. Prayers for our leaders in churches every Sabbath and Sunday won’t work unless our leaders become God fearing and have some principles within their inner beings.
Parliament sessions are always opened with prayers and this becomes a mockery because MPs themselves do not believe in those prayers as reflected in their actions.
This is why this country, despite its many rich resources, cannot prosper economically.
On this note too I would like to thank those MPs who led with integrity and responsible leadership in the past houses and in the current house.
We need more leaders with very good reputable characters.
