THREE hotel camps have been established ahead of Friday’s looming motion of no confidence.
These are at the Honiara Hotel, Mendana Hotel, and Pacific Casino Hotel.
The Solomon Star has established the Honiara Hotel camp is made up of those in the DCC Government, while the Mendana Hotel comprised of the Independent Group and Opposition.
Government ministers and backbenchers who witndrew their support from Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare are occupying Pacific Casino Hotel under the leadership of former deputy prime minister Douglas Ete and Bodo Dettke.
One opposition insider claimed last night they have secured two other members of parliament from the government side.
But a government insider slammed the claim, describing it as pure rumours.
The government insider said the Democratic Coalition for Change Government is confident they will stick together despite offers of huge amounts of cash from the other groups.
“We are not dishing out any money,” said the insider.
He also clarified that claims that Lands and Housing minister Andrew Manepora’a’ has resigned is not true.
“Mr Manepora is currently overseas with the Foreign Affairs Minister, Milner Tozaka and should be back tomorrow (Saturday).
“We have maintained contact and both are still with the government,” said the insider.
A resignation letter purported to be from Mr Manepora’s was received by Government House Wednesday this week.
It was one of the seven letters the Government House received from seven government ministers that resigned.
