PREMIER of Makira-Ulawa Province Thomas Weape says the newly elected 50 Members of Parliament must be serious about forming a new government.
His call came in light of the intense lobbying to form the new government.
He said the new government should be serious and should not associate with the elements of the last government.
“The elected representative must be serious about forming the new government. It was too risky to associate with the elements of the past government which was full of false promises,” he said.
“This is to ensure that our country moves forward.
“We desperately need a new government that we can all be part of.”
The election of the prime minister will take place next Tuesday.
East Choiseul MP Manasseh Sogavare and Hograno-Kia-Havulei-Kokota MP Jeremiah Manele are vying for the top job.
