LOYALTY is a virtue that all members of parliament should possess, a school teacher Peter Tahiliu says.
Mr Tahiliu was referring to the seven ministers who resigned last week from the DCC government.
He said the seven showed no loyalty to their leader Prime Minister Manasseh Sogavare.
He stated loyalty is a virtue that can keep leaders to work together towards a common goal.
Mr Tahiliu said while it is their right to resign, he criticised their action, saying they lacked consistency in their commitment to DCC government and the people of this country.
“As a member of DCC government you should remain loyal to your group and don’t runaway or resign when there is an in-house matter that needs to be solved,” he said.
While he thank the six independent members for crossing over to the government to make the Sogavare regime stable, he also appealed to the six members to show loyalty to DCC.
“As leaders you should have integrity and respect in your leadership as you are the representatives of the silent majority in the country.”
