PRIME Minister Manasseh Sogavare is in the process of appointing lawyer Andrew Muaki as his special secretary.
This followed the recent removal of Rence Sore from the job due to pressure from Government Caucus.
Mr Muaki on Wednesday confirmed he was offered the job.
But he said the appointment is yet to be made formal.
Mr Muaki was a former special secretary to Prime Minister Danny Philip, who was ousted in the last government.
Until recently, he worked as a legal officer with Japanese mining giant, Sumitomo Ltd.
The Solomon Star understands Mr Sogavare has re-posted Mr Sore on a special assignment to look after the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) chair’s office, which is currently held by Solomon Islands.
