A YOUTH team from Murwillumbah Australia Sacred Heart Parish arrived on Sunday for an exchange programme with the youth of Saint Mary Tanahai Parish.
The Tanahai parishioners welcome their guests with a special welcome service.
Catholic Media officer Camillus Kole said following the service a Tanahai Parish chairman Anthony Lelea brief the youths about Saint Mary Tanahai Parish.
Mr Lelea said Tanahai Parish is made up of communities from Kakabona to Taboko.
“I hope you will enjoy walking around and visiting some of our communities and homes within the parish.
“Our parish population is quite large and our church building can longer cater for this 4000 member population,” he said.
He said some of the big events which brought the parish members together include the Catholic Mother Feast Day celebration.
Meanwhile the youth team from Australia yesterday visited Visale Catholic Parish.
They will also have the opportunity to visit Tenaru Lodge and Tenaru Falls.
During the welcome service on Sunday, the Murwillumbah youths presented a Holy Image to the Saint Mary Tanahai Parish – a gift from their parish.
They will return to Australia on Friday.
