The Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SICCI) welcome acclaimed musical composer and conductor Igelese Ete to the country.
Mr Ete arrived in the country with SICCI CEO who returns from the Solomon Islands Australian Business Council held in Brisbane.
He was welcomed at the airport by SICCI SEO Nancy Kwalea and his colleague choreographer Jolame Cagi.
Mr Ete, who directed an inspirational choral performance for the Chamber’s Inaugural Business Excellence Awards in March last year (2013), is most famous for being the choirmaster for the music for the Lord of the Rings and Hobbit films and his recent work in the upcoming animation movie, the Dolphins.
Mr Ete gave an inspirational speech during the award night.
He returns to put together a choral performance for this year’s Awards scheduled for 30th of August at the A’hara Conference Centre, Heritage Park Hotel.
A Samoan/New Zealand by background, Mr Ete has composed music in various countries across the Pacific.
He currently serves as the Head of Performing Arts at the University of South Pacific (USP) in Suva, Fiji.
